The firsthand perspective.
Kimpton Las Mercedes is, simply put, fabulous. It's a stylish, beautifully designed home base in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone, with standout spaces you won't find anywhere else in the city.
What I loved
- A pool set up high, with sweeping views over the city
- A modern gym right next door, with smoothies you can order, plus a bathroom and changing rooms
- Stunning meeting and event rooms throughout the property
- The cigar room, which features a historic well uncovered during construction and now preserved under plexiglass
Good to know
- It's a wonderful base for exploring the Colonial Zone. Pair your stay with a guided walking tour, the Larimar Museum, and the new Fortress of Columbus museum.
