Bridget's Take
The firsthand perspective.
Casa de Campo is made for families who want space, and the Premier Suites are the best way to stay. Add an amazing spa, beach days, and a day trip to Catalina Island, and it's an easy recommendation for multigenerational groups.
What I loved
- The Presidential Suite: a king bed, a sofa bed for extra guests, a private sitting room with TV, a large living room with a dining table, a full kitchen, and a huge bathroom with a standalone tub, large walk-in shower, separate water closet, and a large closet
- The option to connect the suite to an adjoining one-bedroom to make it even larger
- Lunch at Minitas, right by the beach: empanadas, ceviche, fried zucchini, paella with chicken and fish, shrimp scampi, and strawberry mojitos, with coconut creme brulee and ice cream sandwiches for dessert
- Altos de Chavon, the beautiful hilltop village with its amphitheater
Good to know
- The spa is amazing, with an incredible hydrotherapy circuit. Guests can also spend a day on Catalina Island, just off the coast. You can arrange for a private chef to cook in your suite at an additional cost. La Romana is about a two-hour drive from Miches, so it pairs well in a two-stop trip.
Room Tips
Choosing your stay.
The Premier Suites are my top pick, and you can connect a suite to an adjoining one-bedroom for even more space. For larger multigenerational families, Casa de Campo's private villas are a wonderful option.
